Branch Executive Director of Business and Finance

Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director of Business and Finance will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team overseeing the organization’s financial matters, investments, information technology, marketing, human resources and overall business strategy.  As a member of the senior leadership team s/he will have direct reports in finance, marketing, HR, information and business.  Must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline oriented workplace.

Qualifications

●   Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Business (preferred) or a minimum of 5 years of executive experience related to accounting, budgeting, financial management and executive leadership.

●   Experience managing organizational systems and information technology to lead and streamline finance and accounting procedures, producing predictive indicators to best manage the organization. 

●   Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

●   Excellent interpersonal skills

●   Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.  Experience with financial, membership and payroll data and analysis tools preferred. 

●   CPR and First Aid certifications within 60 days of hire.

Essential Functions

●     Provide supervision and leadership to all directors to ensure sound operations and program advancement.  Including Human Resources, Financial Management/ Reporting, Information Technology and Marketing.

●     Monitor monthly financial status including membership and program revenue, expenses, cost controls and revenue opportunities.

●     Prepare analysis and reports to executive and operating staff that affect financial performance.

●     Develop and manage the overall budget.

●     Recommend and develop finance strategies to achieve capital growth.  Managing investments under the direction and guidelines expressed by the board.

●     Remain up to date on non-profit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding non profit operations. Ensure the operations are within all YMCA, state, federal and local regulations

●     Oversee payroll, annual benefits and present the outcome to the Finance committee and Board for approval.

●     Manage and organize physical infrastructure systems, apps, and licenses.

●     Experience managing government grants and contracts
