Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass the proficiency test. Must be a High School Graduate or have a G.E.D. Ability to use typical business software and office equipment. Understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff. Must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, screening, TB test. Ability to have transportation to all food program sites on a daily basis. As a YMCA Business Driver, the employee must possess a valid/current CA Driver’s License or other valid state driver’s license and must provide to the Y proof of minimum CA vehicle insurance coverage upon request & must also maintain an approved/acceptable driving record. An annual MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) will be conducted by the Y. Employees who are YMCA Business Drivers who do not maintain an acceptable driving record may be prohibited from being a Business Driver, which could affect employment status. Be CPR/First Aid Certified within the first 30 days of employment and keep current as a condition of employment of continued employment.
Duties/Responsibilities: Will provide a safe, nurturing environment for all program participants. Responsible to drive to designated school sites prior to food delivery and arrange food and beverages in the designated areas for the purpose of serving eligible youth. Reports all issues to Nutrition & Outreach Program Director immediately. Ensures food delivered matches what is stated on the delivery ticket. Sign the delivery tickets and turn them in to the Food Program Coordinators at the end of the week. Maintains refrigerators clean by only using Portion Pac: SFSPac All Purpose Cleaner provided by the Anaheim Family YMCA. Follows all rules and regulations under Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) & Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition (e.g., cleaning and sanitizing tables, trays, counters, etc.) for the purpose of complying with current health standards and ensuring the safety of food handling. Maintains site refrigerators clean. Ensures to have shelf-stable meals present at all times on site. Observe students, staff, and parents to ensure that all parties are following Food Program policies and procedures. Assist Basketball Academy Program in-between serving times. Teach basketball skills to a group of 20 students. Observe behavior of students; report any students with challenging behavior to program director.
