Experienced executive to direct learning and leadership development system for YMCAs across the country
CHICAGO (September 13, 2022) — YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), the national resource office for the 2,560 Ys across the country, has appointed Tina MacVeigh as their new Executive Vice President and Chief Learning and Leadership Development Officer. In her new role, MacVeigh will be responsible for building a national learning and leadership development system to help YMCAs train and support staff who can meet the changing needs of their communities, today and in the future.
The Y has a long, innovative history as a learning and leadership development organization which includes pioneering staff training and certification. A top strategic priority for the Y is building a future-focused training and development system that helps Y staff hone the skills and competencies they need to strengthen the communities they serve and grow in their careers.
“The staff who make the Y’s mission come alive in communities every day are our organization’s greatest asset,” said Suzanne McCormick, President and CEO of YMCA of the USA. “Supporting them with purposeful learning and leadership development opportunities has been a hallmark of the Y for generations. With her proven experience leading enterprise learning strategies and delivering innovative technology solutions to increase access and effectiveness, Tina is the right leader to partner with YMCAs across the country to reinvigorate our learning and leadership development system at this unique moment in the Y’s history.

She previously served as Senior V.P./Chief Strategy Officer for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati and held executive roles in education and operations for CA Technologies and Oracle/Siebel Systems.
“I’m thrilled to join the Y, with its rich history of serving and strengthening communities,” said Tina MacVeigh. “I’m looking forward to partnering with the national network of YMCAs to reinvigorate and enhance the Y’s robust and unique learning experiences for both its staff and volunteers, which will have a direct impact on the communities the Y serves.”
