Job Description

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a proactive and skilled District Maintenance Director to lead and oversee the maintenance and up keep of 3-5 YMCA properties. This vital role serves as the on-site maintenance leader, ensuring that our facilities are safe, operational, and welcoming for all members and staff. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in general maintenance, capable of working directly in the environment to perform upkeep tasks, manage cleaning and grounds staff, and coordinate with contractors. Reporting to the VP of Operations and Center Executive Directors, this position requires a blend of technical skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to the YMCA's mission.

Qualifications

Education: The ideal candidate should hold a High School Diploma or equivalent; specialized training or certification in facilities management, construction, or a related field is preferred.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, 2 years in a leadership of supervisory role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and grounds maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team, work with diverse groups, and manage external contractor relationships.
  • A commitment to the YMCA's mission and values, with a focus on creating a safe, welcoming environment for all.
Essential Functions

  • Facilities Management: Directly perform and oversee all aspects of general maintenance, repairs, and improvements across YMCA properties, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and schedule cleaning and grounds staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and landscaping are maintained. Provide training, support, and oversight to all maintenance staff.
  • Contract Coordination: Select, supervise, and coordinate contractors for specialized maintenance or construction projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety audits and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including procurement of supplies and services, cost analysis, and financial reporting to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Emergency Response: Serve as the primary contact for facility-related emergencies, capable of swift decision-making and action to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the VP of Operations and Center Executive Directors on long-term facility planning, including renovations, expansions, and new construction projects.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.

The yearly salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidates experience.
