Qualifications
- Preferred Age: 21+
Essential Functions
- Design and implement CIT Program Curriculum
- Coach participants in regards to professionality, working with children and being a steward of camp
- Reside in cabin with program participants
- Evaluate CIT participant progress for volunteer and staffing considerations
- Regularly communicate with Program Director about program and participant progress and needs
- Work over the weekend as required by CIT Program Schedule
- Fill in as a Camp Counselor when outside of program weeks
- Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values
- Ensure the emotional, mental, and physical safety of all participants
- Complete required paperwork in timely manner
- Work in tandem with other camp staff to create a safe and welcoming experience for all
- Effectively manage camper behavior and homesickness
- Inform leadership staff of any camper or staff concerns
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills
- Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of YMCA Camp Piomingo
- Other duties as assigned
SHIFT: Sunday – Friday, daily hourly breaks, housing and meals provided
STATUS: Part-time; Non-exempt, Seasonal
STARTING SALARY: $450+/week (DOE)
