We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Trips Coordinator to join our team and help create unforgettable experiences for our guests. As the Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing the operations of our Tripping Programs and BOLD & GOLD, being point for logistics and planning, and ensuring that each instructor and participant are provided with the necessary resources to be successful in various programs at YMCA Camp Piomingo.
Along with BOLD & GOLD, this position will also oversee our summer Trailblazer programs and aid with general camp marketing, promotions, and programming in the off seasons. These programs offer year-round partnership programs and summer expedition experiences. Partnership programs engage with schools, non-profits, and community-based organizations to design and implement transformative outdoor experiences. The summer expedition program runs expeditions that engage youth through frontcountry and backcountry trips ranging in length from 5 to 15 days. BOLD & GOLD and Trailblazer experiences will take place in various state and national parks and recreation areas. The goal of BOLD & GOLD is to increase confidence, courage, emotional intelligence, wonder, and community awareness in our participants. BOLD & GOLD believes these traits are the foundations of leadership and works to inspire participants to develop their own leadership style. BOLD & GOLD prepares young people to be the next generation of leaders through multicultural experiential education in the natural world.
· Must be 21 years of age
· Current Driver’s License with a minimum 3 years safe driving experience and a driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards
· Outdoor leadership education or experience preferred.
· Employees must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs, safely travel over varied terrain (trails, tree roots, boulder/rock fields, shoreline, mud, snow, ice) up to 15 miles per day, be comfortable spending multiple days and/or weeks in a wilderness setting, communicate both verbally and non-verbally with other staff, volunteers, and participants
· Wilderness trip experience as either a participant or staff member
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Commitment to working with diverse groups of youth and staff
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Desire to learn and approach challenges with a problem-solving mentality
· Ability to work independently as well as within a team
· Ability to live on site/in cabin during scheduled program times.
· Current WFR and CPR Certification*
RESPONSIBILITIES

· As Trips Coordinator, your role is to work in collaboration with the Camp Piomingo Seasonal and Full-time team
· Coordinate with activity leaders, guest speakers, and facilitators to ensure seamless integration of activities.
· Provide a warm and welcoming environment for participants, addressing their needs and concerns throughout their time in Camp Piomingo Programs.
· Communicate clearly and effectively with participants, staff, and management to provide timely updates, instructions, and information about schedules and logistics.
· Positively impact & mentor a diverse community of all ages
· Ensure that instructors and participants are provided with the necessary resources to be successful; this could be in the form of packing food, repairing equipment, driving, playing games with youth, or consoling a homesick participant
· Organize and implement all trip logistics and coordination of summer trips and BOLD & GOLD.
· Coordinate the organization, function, and availability of backpacking, camping, and rock-climbing equipment, including clothing, first aid supplies, stoves, backpacks, sleeping bags, and tents, etc.
· Facilitate and provide support to instructor teams during the trip prep, de-issue, and debrief process
· Ensure both a physically and an emotionally safe and inclusive environment for youth and staff
· Ensure all activities are safe, inclusive, engaging, catering to a diverse range of participants’ interests and abilities.
· Aid in Camp Piomingo marketing and promotions
· Facilitate, help with other camp programs as necessary

STARTING SALARY: $692/week; $36,000/year
