Job Description

Provides direction and leadership for human resources, and business operations. Oversees the YMCA’s accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of its financial reports. Ensures a system of strong internal controls and maintains fiscal soundness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
  • Two years or more experience in office management and human resources preferred.
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts and applications including cash reconciliation, deposits, and accounts payable.
  • Experience with standard business accounting software and office machines. QuickBooks experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer expertise with Microsoft Office tools and database systems.
  • Self-motivated, results driven, detail oriented, and adaptable.
  • Able to exercise good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Must submit to and successfully pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must understand, support, and be able to articulate the YMCA’s Mission and core values.
Essential Functions
  • Performs daily cash management, daily deposit, and daily reconciliation of CRM & QuickBooks. Processes all accounts payable in a timely manner.
  • Serve as liaison for the day-to-day banking activities including petty cash, returned checks, bank drafts, and reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Serves as liaison for the association to the accountant for the processing of employee payroll, employee benefits, and tax filings.
  • Implements appropriate systems and internal controls to adequately safeguard the YMCA’s financial resources and to provide a solid basis for accurately reporting financial data.
  • Assists with the annual external audit and the preparation of information for auditors.
  • Assists Executive Leadership in the association’s annual budgeting process.
  • Provides oversight and leadership in Human Resources related activities including but not limited to employee recruitment, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers. Will lead the onboarding process of all new employees. Navigates employee concerns; demonstrates a settling presence, even during times of crisis and challenge; and helps resolve conflict.
  • Manages purchasing of supplies and equipment for the association.
  • Collects and maintains data on partner/vendor contracts and agreements.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
  • Prepares key financial data for monthly/annual reports in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responds to member and staff inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO. Is willing to step up, even if outside of the position description, to contribute to the overall success of the YMCA.
